Poland Day 2

12th June 2010 by Helen

Productive morning at Artur’s this morning with Paul working on the car and getting our shower and water filtration system working properly.  Helen managed some re-organising of the on-board office and to get some washing done.  Headed off towards Auschwitz with Paul still driving. Hideously hot and humid and loads of mozzies.  Think we might have been scammed today, time will tell.  Eventually found Auschwitz and looked for somewhere to park nearby.  After wasting an hour or so in this latter pursuit we found someone who told us there is camping at the museum!!  Therefore writing this in a car park with the roof tent up surrounded by camper vans.

Paul and Helen, I’m so glad that you have now embarked on your epic journey. Back at Acklam Whin my Year Six group have been waiting for this with bated breath! They have plans to raise funds this half term for your three charities and are looking forward to tracing your journey. They can now begin this tomorrow (Monday).

Wishing you smooth roads, comfy camping and fewer mozzies!

Best wishes to you both and, of course, Landy Bear.

Just wanted to say Happy Birthday Paul!! With love from all the family xxx

  4. Paul says:

Thank you Clare, and love to you all too. Thank you so much for the birthday card you sent with us – I didn’t ‘go bananas’, but we did manage a birthday meal on a camosite here in Poland – very nice :-).

Thank your Dad too – his card is scarilly near the mark – tell him he needs to spend less time in card shops – must take him ages to find ones that fit so well.

We are staying at this site for another night to sort out some of the kit and get the blog up to date etc – we have free internet here. Its thunderstorms and golf ball rain outside at the moment. Helen’s doing the washing!!!

Into Ukraine tommorrow all being well.

    Much love.

    Paul
